Stop wasting time! Launching your Wix site successfully requires three focused steps: securing your domain, choosing the right plan, and hitting publish with confidence. This is the only checklist you need.


Step 1: Secure & Connect Your Domain 🏠


Your domain name is your brand's digital address.


Where to Buy Domain

  • Wix: Easiest option. Get a free domain for the first year with any Premium Plan.

  • External (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains): Provides more control. You'll need to link it to Wix later.

How to Connect Domain to Wix (Nameserver Method)

If you bought externally, you must point it to Wix's hosting.


  • Update at Registrar: Log into your registrar and find DNS/Nameserver Management.

    GoDaddy Action: Domain Settings → Manage DNS → Nameservers → Change → Select "Enter my own nameservers" → Paste Wix Codes.

Namecheap Action: Domain List → Manage → Nameservers dropdown → Select "Custom DNS" → Paste Wix Codes.


  • Wait: Allow up to 48 hours for the connection to finalize.
